This is just a little something I was playing around with in my Printmaking class. This print was made using my hand carved vinyl plate and water soluble ink. After printing I coloured it in with pencils and markers. This was a practice before printing on good paper with oil based ink.
***Linda (Serendipity), this post is for you =D***

You can now find me on Pinterest. And yes it is addictive.
You can still enroll in Life Book, the year long mixed media course that I will be guest teaching in.
Wow Kylie, I love this! (Well you knew I would, I love the little inset about the post being for me) "Just a little something I was playing around with"... I think you are being a bit modest here. Looking at the print above, it looks like you have done a wonderful job carving the plate, as it is very intricate. What size is it? It also looks like you are enjoying the class, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of you doing this class and also of your fabulous print.

ReplyDeleteHi there Linda,
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the post. The vinyl plate is 17cm x 19.5cm. I'm hoping to create a print tomorrow on rice paper using oil based inks and colouring it with water based inks. I've never done this before so it should be interesting. Once I've done that I think our next project is carving into wood. I can't wait. I'll keep you posted (excuse the pun he he he he).
Kyles xo
It's beautiful! I love the color you use. This makes me want to re-learn printmaking as it's been YEARS for me.
ReplyDelete@Lori @ Studio Waterstone Thank you very much Lori. I didn't enjoy it in the begining, but now I love it. =D
