I've entered a competition - Mary - Mixed Media Portrait

I recently framed this portrait of Mary and entered it into a local competition. It, along with my 'Divine Mercy' image of Jesus, is in the shop window of a local christian shop called 'Jacob's Well. The competition is apart of an Art festival that is run every year where I live and sees artists displaying their work in shop windows around town.

This is my first ever competition that I've entered my work into, so my fingers are crossed. Wish me luck,

Cupcakes Anyone????

2011 - The year of Thinking and Dreaming Big. This Whimsical Mixed Media creation is a reflection on my dreams and wishes for 2011.  I do like cupcakes, however, as you may have guessed, it is a metaphor for my heart's desires. 

I've heard that if you can not imagine yourself achieving your goals then they, most likely, will not eventuate. However, if you keep visualizing yourself reaching that giant cupcake, then it's more likely to happen. Hence the saying 'you can do anything if you set your mind on it.' .....or something to that effect. What is your BIG DREAM for 2011?

I created this abstract background a few years ago when I was first trying out water coloured pencils. Recently I decided to add this angel and here is the result.

I drew this floral picture in watercolour pencils on holidays in Jan 2009. I was playing around with watercolour pencils as they are easier to take on holidays than paint.  I hope you like it. Feedback is most welcome and always appreciated.
