Mixed Media Angel - Work in progress

I thought I would post some of my latest projects over the next few days. I'm trying to work on all my unfinished projects that I have lying around.........and I have many. =)

    This is lovely Kyles, it has such a soft feel about it. She looks like she is with child, so could be the angel of motherhood. She also has that far away thoughtful look.

    Thanks Linda.
    Unfortunately this looks terrible. I was happy with her at this stage, until I scanned her into the computer. The real version is much better. I think I might work on her some more and then photograph her, instead of scanning her and see if that helps.
    Yes, she is with child. I didn't plan it, it just turned out that way.

    Her face is really really angelic! Are these pastels you're using?

    Hey there Di,
    Thank you. Her face is a mixture of graphite, pen, but mostly water-soluble crayons.
    My commissioned portraits are usually done using pastel pencils, however I never use pastel in my mixed media pieces.

    I love this! I even kind of love it as it is although I understand why you feel it still needs work. I'm totally obesessed with angels at the moemnt; I want to paint them all the time although I can't seem to decide in what way! I love the softness of this, and also that she looks pregnant.

    Hi Tara,
    Thank you very much. I'm into angels as well. I'm not sure why, but I love to draw them. I start of drawing a person and then *Presto!* all of a sudden she has wings (I say 'she' as I usually draw females for some reason). I'm about to post another mixed media piece and you'll never guess what I've drawn/painted...........ok. You guessed it, another angel. he he he.
